UPDATED: VIERA, FL (October 30, 2019) — The current approved 1.20 “Thumbprint” stamp for USSSA Slowpitch Softball bats will NOW be LEGAL for USSSA play until January 1, 2023. USSSA has decided to move back the legal use date until 2023, to give players a longer usable period for currently owned and manufactured bats.
Current stamp USSSA Bats will stop being produced by manufacturers no later than January 1, 2021. The New Stamp bats will have a higher starting compression and a higher passing compression of 240. This means you can use the current USSSA stamped bats with a lower failing compression of 220 for USSSA sanctioned events for another 3+ years.
ROCHESTER, NY (September 26, 2019) — The current approved stamp for USSSA Slowpitch Softball bats will be expiring in 767 days. USSSA has decided to move forward with a new stamp to keep the integrity of the game for participants and manufacturers. The new stamp with new performance standards will have an estimated retail sale date of 6/1/2020.
The revision to USSSA Slowpitch bat stamp will go into effect 11/1/2021. At that time, all current stamp bats will no longer be usable in USSSA sanctioned events. Other associations may continue use of the current stamp beyond that date.
Current stamp USSSA Bats will stop being produced by manufacturers no later than 6/1/2020. The New Stamp bats which will begin selling on 6/1/2020 and will have a higher starting compression, and a higher passing compression. On November 1, 2021, only new stamp bats will be eligible for play in USSSA/GSL sanctioned events. This means that you can use the hottest USSSA stamped bats with the current stamp in USSSA sanctioned events for another 2+ years.
